How a Coffee and Yasmin Shima’s NFT Collection Ruined my Day.
Yesterday a project was shared with me from Trey Ratcliff, a photographer in the Proof Collective. The project was called Ride or DieX and the art pulled me in immediately. I didn’t like the art, I loved it.
These 14 images of women are the debut NFT collection of Australian artist Yasmin Shima. The project surprised me. It was provocative, sexy, REALLY good, and somehow selling for under .08 ETH.
I then, proceeded to make the biggest mistake of my day. I made coffee. The coffee was great, a light roast. I used a french press… This coffee and Yasmin would come together to destroy any happiness I might have had on this sunny Saturday afternoon.

When I returned to the computer, EVERY, LAST, NFT has been snatched up. The floor was now over 3 ETH. I stared at my computer in disbelief. Refreshing OpenSea praying there was an error. It was no error. The collection had been pounced on by a pack of hyenas with a good eye. I suspect those hyenas originated from the Proof Collective, as I have seen this group move in and gobble up hot projects.
After mentally recovering from my loss, I did a little more research on Yasmin, and found she is doing a 10k drop. This project is still VERY early and I believe has great promise. You can check out Yasmin’s art here. If you’re into it, I would recommend you hop in their Discord as the project is still in its infancy, and you probably won’t be fighting a bot army for early access… yet. Here are some previews of what that collection might look like from the projects Instagram.
Best of luck to Yasmin in what I believe will be a long and very successful NFT career.
